Léopold Labenne Van Raes is a member of the Paris Bar. He joined the firm after working in international law firms in Paris and Casablanca, specialising in criminal and business law. Before becoming a lawyer, he was a political adviser to the French Senate, where he developed an expertise in crisis management, as well as a valuable knowledge of the French legislative system and political institutions.
Léopold specialises in business criminal law, mainly in criminal litigation with a strong financial component (fraud, corruption, tax fraud, money laundering), as well as regulatory proceedings before the AMF and the DGCCRF.
Having lived in Morocco for two years and worked on a number of projects in West Africa (Togo, Senegal, Côte d’Ivoire), he is familiar with cases with links to these countries. Lastly, he has developed expertise in environmental litigation (defence of environmental activists, environmental criminal offences such as greenwashing).
Léopold studied at Sciences Po Paris and McGill University in Canada, and works in both French and English.
Originally from the west of France, he closely follows local politics and has been involved in several political campaigns.
